    Question

    steve,

    i would appreciate ur help. whenever i try to download anything, (windows media plyr, real player etc) my computer chooses to use quicktime to download everything.....which obviously doesnt work. I have now deleted quicktime off my pc, but it still says i have to use quicktime.......how do i solve this?

    If you right-click on the file and choose "save as..." it shouldn't open any kind of player, only the option to save it. If you click on the file normally, that's when the designated player will download the file, in your case Quicktime. If you want Media Player to be the player of choice, open it and go to Tools - Options - Formats, and check whichever media you want it to play. I hope this makes sense and ultimately helps you out.

    After you download someting, hold down shift, then RIGHT click on it. "Open With" should be an option. Choose whatever you want and check off "Always use this program" to open it.

    You have to be careful whenever you install Real or QT or WInamp. They DO give you the option to choose file assosication before installing, you just have to look.
